We´re pleased to present the Cathedral House, a private commission by architect Lewis Morse, known for his design principles that could later be seen in the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Set on a forested ocean view site, the Cathedral House, with features reminiscent of the Pompidou, broke the mould with its rebellious all-exposed construction: the steel structure from which the floors are suspended is visible from the entrance, as are the giant timber cross sections, and the original post and beams from the 1950s mid-century modern home it was built upon. The Cathedral House is a uniquely modern and warm family residence ready for its next custodian. (id:48970)
